What is The Giving Pledge?

40 of America’s wealthiest people made a commitment in 2010 to give the majority of their wealth to address some of society’s most pressing problems. Created by Warren Buffett, Melinda French Gates, and Bill Gates, the Giving Pledge since then has become a world wide platform where people with significant wealth can join forces and support the good in society.

As of 2021, 231 people from 28 countries have made pledges including MacKenzie Scott and her husband Dan, as well as the founders Bill Gates, Melinda French Gates and Warren Buffet. Most of the pledgers are in their 50- 60 -70es  supporting a wide spectrum of causes from arts and education to clinical research and science, environmental issues and renewable energy.
